You may think that Advertising Ape is called so because of the idea that physically and psychologically the human race are still Apes but we debase our primeval urges by giving in to the lures of advertising.

You are wrong

You may on the other hand be under the impression that the it is Advertising Ape because the blog is about Gorilla Marketing and is a clever play on words.

You would also be mistaken.

It is called Advertising Ape because when the founder was previously unemployed (which is rapidly becoming something of a vocation) he had an idea to dress up as monkey and carry a sign around Soho saying, 'will work for peanuts.'

Unfortunately he was dissuaded.

 

Advertising Ape is a consortium of borderline Net Gen'ers who consume, prosume and create the rapidly changing media environment.  We started this Blog as people were getting fed up with the multitude of emails flying around about new campaigns, technologies, jokes and stories clogging inboxes and distracting conscientious work colleagues.   So this is a space where we can play around with things, post what ever we want and as it is a formal Blog format feel that we are doing something constructive whilst doing so.
